Beryllium Copper
Beryllium Copper Grade C17510 Beryllium Copper Grade C17200
Grade C17510:- Beryllium Copper C17510 is a
high-conductivity nickel-beryllium copper alloy that combines
excellent electrical and thermal conductivity with good
strength, hardness, fatigue resistance, and corrosion
resistance. It is widely used in electrical connectors,
resistance welding electrodes, thermal mold tooling, and
industrial components where both conductivity and mechanical
durability are required.
Applications:-
Beryllium Copper C17510 is widely used in applications that
require a combination of high electrical conductivity, high
thermal conductivity, good mechanical strength, and excellent
wear resistance. It is commonly employed in electrical and
electronic components such as connectors, terminals, relay
parts, switch contacts, fuse clips, and conductors, where
reliable current carrying capability is essential. The alloy is
also extensively used in resistance welding equipment, including
spot welding electrodes, electrode holders, welding arms, seam
welding, projection welding and contact tips, due to its ability
to withstand high temperatures while maintaining conductivity.
In tooling applications, C17510 is utilized for plastic
injection mold inserts, blow molds, thermal transfer plates, and
die-casting components because of its superior heat dissipation
properties. Additionally, it is used in springs, fasteners,
bushings, shafts, and other industrial components that require
good fatigue resistance and durability. Its unique combination
of conductivity and strength also makes it suitable for
aerospace, automotive, power transmission, and electromagnet
applications where both electrical performance and mechanical
reliability are critical.
Grade C17200:- Beryllium Copper
(UNS C17200, often called Alloy 25) is a high-strength copper
alloy containing about 1.8-2.0% beryllium. It is best known for
its unique ability to achieve very high mechanical strength
after heat treatment (age hardening), while still maintaining
good electrical and thermal conductivity compared to most
high-strength alloys. In its hardened condition, it offers
excellent fatigue resistance, wear resistance, and dimensional
stability, along with good corrosion resistance. It is also
non-magnetic and non-sparking, which makes it suitable for
specialized safety-critical environments. Because of this
combination of properties, C17200 is widely used in electrical
connectors, springs, switches, aerospace components, precision
tooling, and injection mold inserts where both durability and
conductivity are important.
Applications:- C17200 beryllium copper is used
in applications where high strength, good conductivity, and
excellent wear resistance are required together. It is commonly
used in electrical and electronic components such as connectors,
terminals, relay parts, switches, and spring contacts because it
maintains reliable conductivity under repeated mechanical
stress. In industrial tooling, it is widely used for plastic
injection mold inserts, blow mold components, die-casting dies,
and heat transfer parts due to its ability to dissipate heat
quickly and maintain dimensional stability. The alloy is also
used in resistance welding electrodes, probe pins, and precision
instrumentation where accuracy and durability are critical. In
aerospace, marine, and defense applications, it is used for
springs, bushings, diaphragms, and fasteners that must perform
under fatigue and harsh environments. Additionally, because it
is non-sparking and non-magnetic, C17200 is used for safety
tools and equipment in explosive or flammable environments such
as oil and gas, mining, and chemical industries.
